Michael Edwards contemporary painting subjects were seascapes, beaches and rivers with light sparkling on the water. He wasis also known for his sweeping Cotswold Gloucestershire landscape paintings, which were often painted in winter colours with bold skies and dramatic lighting.
Michael Edwards produced three books on painting and was a regular contributor to International Artist and The Leisure Painter Magazine.
In 2001 Michael Edwards won two major awards for his painting - The Artist Magazine prize at Patchings Art Fair and the Frank Herring prize at the ROI in London. In 2004 again he won the painting prize at the ROI
