he learnt to weld.
In 2008 Richard returned from Nigeria and started to use his welding skills to create some stainless steel sculptures which were seen by the owner of a sailing trophy company. Richard was then commissioned to create pieces for the British Olympic Sailing Team on their return from the Beijing Olympics. Since then Richard has worked on sculptures for the Americas Cup, the Extreme 40 Sailing Series and been commissioned to create sculptures for various museums.
