Limited Edition Prints by Norman Smith Limited Edition Prints and Art Prints at Red Rag Norman Smith is a successful British artist. He was born in 1949 and studied Art and Design in Bristol which led to a teaching qualification. After a period of time spent traveling Norman Smith spent time teaching in Australia. He became a full time artist in 1987. Norman's art work is predominantly pastel, a medium which is suited to the use of strong and gentle colour to depict the changing moods of the landscape. Norman's technique is to apply solid patches of pure colour in thick layers that create a heavy textured effect, treating this medium much like oil paint. Coastal and marine subjects are favourites of Norman Smith. He is attracted to the different challenges and tremendous variety of colour and constant movement. Recently Norman Smith has reassessed his approach by concentrating on new and restricted palettes, together with an attempt to develop a stronger more vibrant image. This has led to the greater use of oils as a medium to further this approach. All Norman Smith limited edition prints from Red Rag Art Gallery have been reviewed by the artist. This guarantees that all prints offered by Red Rag satisfy the high quality and fine art standards set by Norman Smith for prints. Each limited edition print series from the Red Rag British Art Gallery is available for immediate delivery and can be shipped worldwide.
