Cheshire College, Emma worked as a freelance textile designer until 1998 when she started to paint full time.
Emma says: "My paintings are textured and always vivid. Evoking memories of a time space or mood. My many visits to Cornwall have been a constant source of inspiration, influencing my particular approach to interiors and landscapes"
Emma Williams' training in textile design is apparent in the colour and decorative qualities of her work. These combine with flattened perspective to play an essential role in creating rich and complex pictures with a distinctive style. One is reminded of the still life paintings of artists such as Mary Fedden and Christine McArthur.
As well as exhibiting at Red Rag Gallery Emma Williams paintings are widely exhibited both in Devon Art Galleries and also several well known London Art Galleries plus contemporary art galleries in Ireland.
Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the Emma Williams artist studio and like all Red Rag British art and Contemporary art it can be shipped worldwide.
