Sunrise, River Blyth

Colin Orchard has chosen to paint the sunrise as seen against the foreground of a jetty on the River Blyth near Southwold in Suffolk. Orchard creates interest and texture through his depiction of the light and shade and the stunning glow of the rising sun.

Influenced by, Sickert and Vuillard, Colin Orchard creates art work that is both impressionist and immediate. His paintings have regularly featured at the Royal Academy Summer shows. In 2007 he was appointed a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
