Home and Interiors Sculpture by Adam BINDER Sculpture and Sculptors at Red Rag Adam Binder was born in 1970. He grew up in the outstanding Cotswolds landscape which has been an inspiration for his sculptures for the past 25 years. More recently has been hugely inspired from his trips to Africa After leaving art college to pursue a career in ceramics, Adam moved into the giftware market with a company called Harmony Kingdom. Then in 2001 he left that position to set up Adam Binder Editions which became a successful international collectibles company. Success with resin editions enabled Adam to progress into producing limited sculptures using tradition bronze casting. At the sametime, he decided through his art to draw awareness to the plights of the worlds endangered species. He now helps raise funds to support the work of international conservation groups. Today Adam Binder is one of Britain`s leading wildlife sculptors. In 2009 he was made an Associate Member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and in 2010 he won the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year. His sculpture now has International recognition and is sought after by collectors all over the world. Talking about his sculptures Adam says: 'Nature is a wonder and a joy to observe and through my sculpture I endeavour to connect further with wildlife and capture the character of my subject. While Im sculpting I feel Im engaging with the spirit of the animal, sensing its subtle movement and suggestion in body language. For me, nature and sculpture are the perfect marriage. I see repetition in form, line, mass and detail throughout the natural world, sculpted over time but in perfect harmony. Conscious of these patterns, the concept for a sculpture becomes active in my mind and only when the composition, balance and emotion is clear do I begin to sculpt. I want to portray the simplicity of form, smooth flowing lines, natural rhythm and in doing so, free the eye to engage in the detail.' Adam Binder's bronze sculptures show an incredible skill for patination. His work shows not only an in-depth knowledge of his subject, but a keen sense for the abstract qualities of line, form, colour and texture. His sculptures are recognisable for their fluid style of simple lines and flowing forms depicting both movement and emotion. Working primarily in Bronze with rich patinas he captures the essence of his subjects.
