Contemporary British Artist Julian Mason was born in 1971 in Newcastle-under-Lyme and trained at Falmouth School of Art. He currently lives in Cheshire with his family and is a full time artist, travelling across Scotland, the Lake District, Peak District and Cornwall to capture his stunning landscape paintings.
Inspired by childhood adventures through the campsites of Scotland, Julian Mason endeavours to capture the everchanging light on the landscape and water around him in his art. His paintings vary from rugged British and Scottish mountains with dramatically moving skies, to serene art of sunset skies and delicate flowers.
Julian Mason paints en plein air, thriving on the challenge of dramatically changing light and the occasional battle with the British and Scottish elements. His Landscape paintings are a highly skilled tribute to the majestic beauty of our landscapes, areas of which Julian feels privileged to be a depicting in his art and paintings. When painting outdoors, he feels he is able to disappear into the landscape and hopes that the viewer can do the same.
As well as working with Red Rag Gallery in Bath, Julian Masons contemporary art and paintings are exhibited across galleries throughout the UK and in private art collections across the globe.
