He has been profoundly influenced by the Cornish countryside. John's paintings reflect his affinity with such wonderful natural surroundings.

'Penwith Farm' is an example of John Piper's dramatic portrayal of his beloved Cornwall. In bright, strong colours reminiscent of the South of France, Piper gives us a sense of the space and colour in the countryside.

The farm buildings in 'Penwith Farm' stand proud of the golden field in the foreground. A strong dark sky and sea are echoed in the colour of the shadows under the wind-blown trees. The yellow of the fields and roofs of the houses adds warmth to the painting.

Over the last forty years John Piper has exhibited his paintings widely. In addition to Red Rag British Art Gallery John Piper has exhibited at other leading British Art Galleries particularly Cornwall Art Galleries . Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the John Piper artist studio and like all Red Rag British art and Contemporary art it can be shipped worldwide.
