Living in Cornwall, Winton immerses herself in a world of beauty and art where she’s able to build her surroundings, creating narrative around her accumulation of antique treasures. Collaging these found objects, Winton’s paintings emerge as quaint artefacts that intertwine nostalgia and contemporary art.
It’s clear to see Winton’s love for American folk art within the simplistic stylings of her work. The doll like features of her figures evoke further sense of American influence, being akin to Margaret Keane’s big doe-eyed children.
