Gemma Pearce was born in Dorset in 1972. She studied Art & Design at Shelly Park, Bournemouth and Poole College of Art, where she obtained a Diploma in Fine Art. Later she studied at Bath College of Higher Education where she obtained a BA (Hons) in Illustration.
Passionate about Cornwall, Gemma eventually moved to Mousehole with her family 18 years ago and, finding herself in the perfect place, surrounded by the sea, harbours, galleries and the ever-changing Cornish beauty, she has been constantly inspired to paint.
Recent art work is mainly of a still life nature, but Gemma is also influenced by, and drawn to, the Cornish light and landscape. The soft colours, shapes, textures, patterns and rooftops, wildlife and flowers as well as the more industrial working harbours and old tin mines provide constant inspiration. She loves nothing more than getting lost in a beautiful view through a window. Gemma's paintings feature a limited palette of colour allowing her to capture the subtle moods of her chosen subject matter.
In addition to Red Rag British Art Gallery, Gemma Pearce has also exhibited at other leading British Art Galleries. Each painting at Red Rag us sourced from the Gemma Pearce artist studio and, like all Red Rag British art and Contemporary art, it can be shipped worldwide.
