Rex Preston Solo Exhibition

Red Rag Gallery is delighted to present a brand‑new collection of oil paintings by acclaimed Derbyshire artist Rex Preston. This solo exhibition is the culmination of 18 months of dedicated work, capturing the drama, tranquillity, and shifting moods of the British landscape with the distinctive style that has made him one of the country’s most admired contemporary painters.

Known for his expressive brushwork and instinctive use of colour, Preston brings the countryside to life with a sense of immediacy and atmosphere that feels both timeless and deeply personal. His new paintings continue this tradition, offering fresh perspectives on the landscapes he knows so well — from sweeping moorlands and woodland paths to quiet valleys and luminous skies.

We are especially pleased to announce that Rex Preston will be in the gallery on Saturday 9 May, giving collectors and admirers a rare opportunity to meet the artist, discuss his work, and gain insight into his creative process.
