Ian Hargreaves shows us the River Avon flowing calmly through the city of Bath having passed under Cleveland Bridge at Bathwick. Ian Hargreaves is a member of The International Guild of Realism and his paintings are full of careful observations and detail. Painting mainly in acrylic, Ian Hargreaves paintings are based around every day scenes, moments in ordinary people’s lives or the life of a town or city. In ‘View from Cleveland Bridge’ we see get a sense of the hills and height of the city of Bath, topped as they are with many limestone terraces. There is a freshness in the way Ian Hargreaves sees the city and shows its relationship to the river.
