Painting: Flood of Light

In the midst of a rain shower the clouds open and we see glorious sunlight falling on the water and lighting up the yachts which are blown by the wind.

‘Flood of Light’ is a dramatic acrylic painting from James Davis. Loose brushwork gives us a sense of the movement of the rain and weather while the strong colours used provide contrast and drama in the scene.

James Davis has painted the Scottish landscape for many years and his love for it and wonder at its drama seem undiminished.
