Simon Laurie was born in 1964 in Glasgow. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art for his BA between 1982 and 1987. This was followed by another two years at GSI gaining a Post Graduate Degree in Fine Art.

Simon Laurie has a very individual abstract style. He draws inspiration from everyday objects and the ever changing Scottish landscape. Laurie’s paintings are full of colour and enduring interest.

In 2000 Simon Lawrie was made a member of the prestigious Royal Glasgow Institute. He is also a member of Royal Scottish Watercolourists. Today Simon’s paintings are widely collected by art lovers across the globe. His art work also features in a number of public and corporate art collections
