Kevin Safe trained at Salisbury College of Art between 1983 and 1988. Following this he moved to Cornwall further developing his artistic style
In 2002 Kevin Safe returned to Wiltshire. This move back to his roots awakened the creative possibilities within his paintings. Kevin found himself deeply inspired by the vast fields, trees, expansive landscapes and architecture throughout Wiltshire and Somerset.
Today Kevin Safe has established a distinctive style that is strong in colour and texture. His heart lies in contemporary landscape and he produces images based on the vast landscapes of Wiltshire and tall buildings of Bath and Bristol.
Kevin says: 'I'm seeking to create timeless, narrative paintings that are not only contemporary but vivid in colour, texture and form. My paintings are influenced by memories as well as distinctive feelings of places familiar and frequently visited. I've drawn inspiration from the work of many other artists, most notably, Francis Bacon, Gustav Klimt and the Cornish artist, Alfred Walis.
