Limited Edition Prints by Iain Faulkner Limited Edition Prints and art prints at Red Rag Iain Faulkner was born in Glasgow in 1973. He graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996 with a BA (Honours) Degree in Fine Art. From the onset of his professional art career, Iain Faulkner chose to concentrate on figurative painting. His draughtsmanship and painterly skills have brought him many admirers and success both from British and American art collectors. He now enjoys an internatonal reputation. Iain Faulkner's paintings contain strong and powerful images relying on visual impact as there is rarely any narrative. His paintings capture calm and contemplative moments, intimate exchanges, solitude, and sometimes melancholy.Faulkner paintings typically create a stark contrast between the light source and the often dark tonality found in his art works. There is a stillness in the everyday themes which conveys a sense of inner-reflection. Iain readily acknowledges his influence by artists such as Singer Sargent, Degas, Whistler and especially Vermeer who's use of everyday scenes portrays figures completing common-place tasks whilst deep in thought Whilst a male character physically identical to Iain Faulkner appears in many of his limited edition prints, the prints are not self-portraits in the traditional sense. Rather they are prints in which Faulkner is the actor. The scenes in which Faulkner’s character are portrayed take place in various possible worlds, timeless alternate universes where past and present, fact and fiction are intertwined. Each limited edition print is interesting for its own sake, for the endless and open narrative one can weave from the single image Faulkner constructs. All Iain Faulkner signed limited edition prints from Red Rag Art Gallery have been reviewed by the artist. This guarantees that all prints offered by Red Rag satisfy the high quality and fine art standards set by Iain Faulkner for prints. Each limited edition print series from the Red Rag British Art Gallery is available for immediate delivery and can be shipped worldwide
