Limited Edition Prints: Artist David Cobley

David Cobley was born in Northampton, England in 1954. After dropping out of art school at the age of eighteen, Cobley travelled around Europe and spent almost ten years studying and working in Japan before returning to England in 1985 as an illustrator and contemporary artist.

David Cobley has been drawing and painting people since childhood. This fascination with the human form has been a constant passion to Cobley in his paintings. He says: "My paintings are almost entirely about the figure - the human form as it is illuminated, as well as concealed, by the light that falls upon it or around it. Using the effects of light, painting can create the illusion of solid form in space; while at the same time blur distinctions between the two. The medium of paint also enables another kind of illusion to come into play - that of the figure emerging from, yet dissolving into, the pigment which gives it life. In the half-light between highlight and shadow, painting offers the tantalising possibility of drama, intrigue and magic."

Limited Edition Prints: Artist David Cobley

David Farren was born in 1972 in Wiltshire. He studied Art and Design at the University of the West of England in 1998 and became a professional artist in 2000.

David has gained a reputation as a modern impressionist, using open brushwork and colour to represent the energy and movement of the urban landscape. His aim is to capture the ambience and individuality of cities providing a snapshot of everyday street life in his paintings and limited edition prints.

Limited Edition Prints: Artist Karolina Larusdottir

Karolina Larudottir was born in 1944. She studied contemporary art at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. In 1986 she was elected a member of the Royal Society of Painter–Printmakers.

Her Limited Edition Prints are underpinned by humour and intrigue. In some art prints Karolina Larusdottir creates a world of her own, with imaginary people in strange situations, often floating, carrying rainbows or being visited by angels. Karolina’s limited edition prints and etchings contain a wry humour that enhances the surreal and timeless qualities she creates when dealing with her favourite subject - people.

Malcolm Teasdale was born in Newcastle in 1944. His early career years were spent as a teacher before becoming a full time artist.

Teasdale’s roots are firmly planted in the North East of England. His forefathers were lead miners working the seams on bleak Alston Moor, and successive generations’ coal mined in Tynedale and close to Newcastle. His limited edition prints display the feeling and empathy that Malcolm has towards life in the North East. His art prints are Giclee prints reproduced from his original oil paintings. Jack Vettriano is a British artist with a huge International reputation. His paintings and limited edition prints have become sought after across the world. Vettriano produces limited edition prints of classic compositions and chic depictions.

Jack Vettriano has been awarded several accolades during his career. He has been awarded an OBE, an honorary degree from St. Andrew's University, and has been featured in several television programmes including the recent charity event Sports Relief where he painted a portrait of Zara Phillips. Vettriano's limited edition prints are widely collected, and among his admirers are Jack Nicholson and Sir Alex Ferguson.
