David Gleeson was born in Manchester in 1956. Both his parents were artists. He attended Rochdale College of Art and then studied Visual Art at Aberystwyth University and painting at Wolverhampton University.
Over the last thirty years David Gleeson has established a reputation as an outstanding painter of Still Life paintings. His mastery of the genre is quite astounding. His art works are executed with a knowing eye and skilful hand.
David Gleeeson art works have been shown at the National Portrait Gallery and the Mall Galleries and are regularly seen in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He has won
a number of art prizes including the 'Discerning Eye' and 'Hunting Art'. He has also been shortlisted for The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.
David Gleeson has been a keen and regular visitor to museums and art galleries. This fascination often forms the basis of many of his paintings. David paints people in museums - they are not posed portraits but mere glances at individuals engrossed in thought and study. But it is his mastery of Still Life that continues to challenge him. He creates beauty out of the ordinary.
In addition to Red Rag Modern Art Gallery David Gleeson's art work has been exhibited at other leading British Art Galleries. Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the David Gleeson artist studio and like all Red Rag Modern British art it can be shipped worldwide.
